About prayer times
How are these prayer times calculated?
From the position of the sun for your exact location and date. Fajr and Isha use the twilight angle of the calculation method that is usual in your country, Asr uses the shadow length of your school, and Maghrib is at sunset. You can change the method and the Asr school in the settings.
Why are my local mosque’s times a little different?
Mosques often round times, add a few minutes of caution, or follow a local timetable or moon-sighting committee. For congregational prayer, always follow your local mosque.
Which calculation method should I choose?
Leave it on Automatic to use the method that is common in your country, for example Umm al-Qura in Saudi Arabia, ISNA in North America, the Muslim World League in much of Europe, and Egypt’s method in much of the Arab world.
What is the difference between the standard and Hanafi Asr?
Standard Asr (Shafi‘i, Maliki and Hanbali) begins when an object’s shadow equals its length plus its noon shadow. Hanafi Asr begins when the shadow is twice the length, so it is later.
Is my location stored or shared?
Your city is saved only in your own browser so the times are ready next time. If you use “Use my location”, your coordinates are used to find your city name and are not stored by us.
