Stars: listen to the whole surah, practise it with Slow or Repeat, then press “I can recite it!” after reciting it to a parent.

For parents

  • Little and often. Five to ten minutes a day is enough. Stop while your child still enjoys it.
  • Listen, repeat, then alone. Let your child hear a word, say it after the reciter, and then try it without the audio.
  • Letters first, then words. Start with the letters, then the short surahs in the order shown, beginning with Al-Fatihah.
  • Use Slow and Repeat. Slow mode leaves a pause after each word; Repeat plays each word two or three times.
  • Praise the effort. Stars are for trying, practising and reciting to you. Celebrate each one.
  • Learn the meaning together. Turn on Meanings to see what each word means, and talk about it.

Words, transliteration, meanings and word-by-word recitation come from Quran.com. All audio is real human recitation; we never use AI voices for the Quran or the letters.

Questions

About Kids Quran

How old should my child be?

Children who can tap and listen can start with the letters, usually from about three or four years old. Short daily sessions work better than long ones.

Whose voice is it?

Real human recitation of the Quran, word by word, from Quran.com. We never use AI voices for the Quran or for the letters.

Why does each letter play a word?

Each letter plays a real word from the Quran that starts with that letter, recited by a reciter, so children hear the sound inside the Quran itself. The section “Letters the Quran recites” lets them hear letter names exactly as they are recited at the start of some surahs.

Is my child’s progress saved?

Yes, the stars are saved on this device. With a free House of Qasas account they are also saved to your account and appear on your other devices.
